LeMieux Vector Control safety stirrups

2 items left

  • Are you looking for the best in quality, comfort and style?
  • Are you concerned about rider safety when riding?
  • Do you want the best and safest stirrups on your saddle?

Then look no further than these LeMieux Vector Control safety stirrups – a new generation of stirrup.

They are technically advanced and lightweight whilst retaining a classic style as expected from LeMieux.

Machined from aviation grade aluminium they offer an impressive strength to weight ratio making them lighter than most stirrups on the market at around 420 grams each meaning they won’t weight your saddle down but also don’t compromise on stability.

The ergonomic flat foot bed has a cross track grip surface with embedded hardened steel pins to provide maximum security and purchase for your boot and is supported by a twin-balance arch system which distributes weight evenly across the base of the stirrup frame.

The Apex of the frame is recessed and off-set which encourages a 45 degree outward orientation which makes it easier for you to locate the optimum angle for your foot, making your riding easier, and helps to regain a lost stirrup.

The integrated hinged arm has a two-stage release system to prevent unintentional opening and when pressure is put onto the arm of the stirrup as when a fall occurs, the arm released allowing your foot to come safely out of the stirrup minimising the risk of being dragged by your foot caught in the stirrup. The stirrup arm breakout force – 36N (equivalent to 3.62kg) in testing meaning there is enough resistance to stop it from opening unintentionally but releasing when needed.

Available in several stylish colours and the foot bed measures 11.5cm x 6.5cm.

LeMieux disclaimer: It's important to note that no stirrup of this design (with a quick-release arm) is 100% guaranteed to open in the event of a fall. There are several factors, including a fall of the horse, a loose girth causing the saddle to slip, or a slow or unusual angle of exit that may not generate enough lateral force to open the release arm. This is very rare but users must be aware that no stirrup is completely foolproof in every eventuality.
