What angle is your horse's back?? 🤔🤔
Have you ever had a good look? As this is one very important factor in deciding what saddle and tree shape you need. 🐎
Would a saddle tree with a very A frame shape that suits the bay TB on the right in the pictures below also fit on the very wide Friesian X on the left?? Or vice versa? 🤷♀️
No of course not - any tree that that does not fairly closely follow the shape of your horse's back will cause pressure somewhere and therefore inhibit performance, cause pain, bad behaviour and compensatory posture leading to incorrect muscle development. 😬😬
Which angle below is closest to your horse? Is it time to step up behind (safely of course!) and check them out? Are they a wide U shape in front and flat behind? A frame shape in front and U shape behind or A frame in front with muscle atrophy and A frame behind?? It DOES make a difference! 😊
