Catherine has been amongst horses for almost 20 years, starting her own ponies under saddle and then educating them herself. Having started a welsh pony stud in 2008, she had noted the difficulty of getting saddles to fit her ponies.
After many years of trial and error and plenty of challenges along the way, the answer was finally found to correct saddle fitting for the cob breed. Catherine mostly competes in pony dressage with her welsh cobs but enjoys the occasional show jumping course.
Catherine is also an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and has been helping athletes and the older population with both chronic disease management and rehabilitation from injury and surgery. With this background, Catherine has a keen interest in rider biomechanics, how this affects the rider in a saddle and how the flow on from rider balance and posture affects the horse.
Catherine is positioned to help both the rider and the horse to manage any rider injury or imbalances that affect the performance of both athletes as well as finding a suitable saddle for both horse and rider.
Catherine is now servicing the SE QLD region while working towards become a Qualified Saddle Fitter with the Society of Master Saddlers in the UK.
